Girls Camp 2012

This was Payton's 4th year of camp, and my 3rd as a leader.   Here is all of the people from our ward, even the leaders that were serving in stake positions.  We are wearing our ward shirts.  Our ward theme was Individual Worth, and so our shirts say Be*YOU*tiful on the front, and on the back they say BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, with the BE and YOU highlighted.  Love, love, love our ward shirts!

There is lots of singing and dancing that goes on at camp.  Waiting for every meal, night program, roll call, etc.

Bishop drove into town to get milk shakes for us.  It was a nice treat.  Camp can be really exhausting, and this was just some downtime for us leaders while the girls were doing crafts.

Our last day of camp was competition day.  All the wards got their stake shirts, which are pink and  say S.T.A.N.D. with a high heel shoe, and underneath in small letters it says....stand tall and never doubt.   Before the games started we got a ward picture out on this bridge.  We made the girls matching headbands to wear with their stake shirts, so we would be ready for the competition.  We were very serious about winning the spirit stick.

One of the games was tossing a wet sponge with a tarp as far as you could.  Payton volunteered to do this game with Cassady Leech.  They did so good, over 90 feet, so here they are showing off their mucsles.

The highlight of all the games was winning the spirit stick.  YEAH!!  Every year the ward who wins the competition day is awarded the spirit stick that the bishop gets to keep in his office for a whole year, until the next girls camp.  Our ward has never won.  At the last stake camp, our ward got second place.  We have 11 wards in our stake, and to finally win it with so many wards to go against, was especially sweet!  It was the perfect way to end camp.
