October break-days 2-3

The weather was so nice even though it was October.  We first drove north to visit La Jolla Beach and enjoy the views, hike around and even see some seals.

Then we drove back to Mission Beach and played.  It was very relaxing for me because I walked in the surf, took pictures of the kids, but mostly I sat by our stuff and protected it from the seagulls and read a book.  That is my idea of relaxation!  We had snacks so the kids would come out of the water to get a snack and then head back out.
After getting completely worn out at the beach we did a little shopping at nearby stores, everyone got a t-shirt or hat, some kind of souvenir.  Then we went back to the hotel, showered and Nate got pizza and a movie that we watched and just hung out in the hotel and relaxed.  We all slept good that night!
The next day we checked out of the hotel and drove to visit the Mormon Battalion museum.  There is a nice little program that explains about the Mormon Battalion and we can look around at things they have there.  It was cool to hear the story of the Mormon Battalion.
Check out the mustache on Nate! It took a long time to grow that.
