Mormon Prom

It is no secret that I was more excited about the mormon prom than Jaden was. He was excited, but embarrassed at my excitement. There was a lot of eye rolling going on. Anyhow, Jaden asked Summer Crewse to go to the dance with him. This is a girl that he has known from school for several years, she went to Benjamin Franklin with him, and is now at Queen Creek High School. She is also our bishops neice. They are friends, and so it was a good, no pressure, first date.
To ask her to the dance, Jaden (I) got an easter basket (it was easter time) and filled it with eggs full of candy and letters that spelled out his name. A giant bunny was sitting on top of the eggs with a note hung around its neck that said "some bunny wants to go to the dance with you". We dropped it off at her house after mutual one night. It was a ding dong ditch.
I didn't get any pictures of his cute way of asking, but I got some of her answer to him. She ding dong ditched us with a bag full of cookies and easter eggs and a note. In the eggs he found his answer, "yes". It was fun and very cute.
Our stake pres. wanted all of the guys who could date to ask girls to the mormon prom. So to help motivate the young men in our ward the bishop offered to take them and their dates out water skiing for the day part of the date. This offer, plus a lot of pressure from our bishop's daughter Lacy (Summer's cousin) who is Jaden and Summer's same age, got Jaden motivated to ask Summer.
This is in the morning picking up the girls and heading out to the lake. Jaden and Summer had a great time. This was Jaden's first time out on a boat. He mostly spent time in a giant tube for 2. Our bishop said that water skiing was out of style now. The in thing is wake boarding. Tucker Workman tried this first, and after 12-15 times of landing on his face, they all decided to use the inner tube.
